About the Alzheimer's Foundation for Caregiving in Canada (AFCC)

The mission of the Alzheimer’s Foundation for Caregiving in Canada (AFCC) is to provide optimal care and services to individuals confronting dementia, and to their caregivers and families—through member organizations dedicated to improving quality of life.

AFCC History

The Alzheimer's Foundation for Caregiving in Canada Inc. (AFCC) was registered with Canada Revenue Agency in January, 2008 and received its national not for profit status in March of 2008. The AFCC is a sister organization to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

The Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) was founded by a consortium of organizations to fill the gap that existed in the United States of America on a national level to assure quality of care and excellence in service to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses, and to their caregivers and families.

AFCC is focused on uniting hundreds of member organizations that are dedicated to meeting the educational, social, emotional and practical needs of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses, and their caregivers and families. Under AFCCs umbrella, these organizations collaborate on education, resources, program design and implementation, fundraising campaigns, and advocacy—all resulting in better care for those affected by the disease.
